Allamah Sayyid Muhammad Husayn Tabataba’i was born in Tabriz on 29th Dhil Hijjah 1321 AH / 16th March 1904. When he was five years old, his mother passed away while giving birth to his younger brother, Sayyid Muhammad Hasan. A few years later, his father also passed away. Allamah Tabataba’i came from a family of learned and pious scholars. He would recite a few verses from the Holy Qur’an before going to sleep at night so that he could go to sleep with the illumination of these blessed verses. He passed away on 15th November 1981 at the age of 77 years and is buried in the Haram of Janabe Fatimah Ma’sumah (sa) in the Holy city of Qum. May Allah (swt) raise his status in Jannah. Āmīn.
