Supplications (Du’a and Ziyārāt)

  • Lessons from Du’a al-Tawbah (31) from Sahifa Sajjaddiyya with reference to the Holy Qur’an –1, 2, 3 & 4
Sincere Repentance Requires Honesty Acknowledge your sins without making excuses. True repentance begins with self-awareness.
    Purification of the Heart
Repentance cleanses the soul from the effects of sin.
Spiritual growth begins with inner purification.
    Good Deeds Should Follow Repentance
Increase acts of worship after seeking forgiveness.
Let righteous deeds demonstrate the sincerity of repentance.
Forgiveness is accompanied by a commitment to righteous action. True repentance requires Allah's help to strengthen our intentions, deepen our understanding of worship, and enable us to perform righteous deeds that purify the soul.
  • Crying for Imam al-Husayn (a)
There are no eyes and (there is) not a tear loved more by Allāh
than the eyes of those who cry and shed tears over Husayn (a).
Verily anyone who cries over him connects with Fātimah (sa),
supports her (in her lamentation), connects with the Messenger
of Allāh (saww), and fulfils our rights.

Kāmiluz Ziyārāt Chapter 26. Hadith 6
  • Sunday Dhil Qa’dah Salaah
The Holy Prophet (saww) is reported to have said, “On Sunday, perform the ritual bath (Ghusl) and ablution (Wudhu). Then, offer a 4-Rak’ah prayer (prayed as two sets of 2 Rak’ahs each).
In every Rak’ah, recite: Surah Al-Fatihah (once),
Surah Al-Ikhlas (3 times), Surah Al-Falaq (once) and
Surah An-Nas (once)
After completing the prayer:
  • The Significance of  Eid al-Adhha
And I ask You, O God– for Yours is the kingdom and the praise; there is no God but You - that You bless Muhammad, Your servant and Your messenger, Your beloved and Your selected friend, Your chosen one from among Your creation, and the Household of Muhammad, the
pious, the pure, the chosen with a blessing no one has the strength
to count but You, that You associate us with the most righteous of Your faithful servants who supplicate to You today - O Lord of the Worlds! And that You forgive us and them! Surely You have power over everything. (Sahifa Sajjadiyya Du’a 48)
