Verse 64: This worldly life is no more than play and amusement. But the Hereafter is indeed the real life, if only we knew. Amusement for children and for adults is different. According to the scholars, the competitive nature of human beings is part of play and amusement. We have to start preparing for the life of the Hereafter from now. This world is only transitory. As the Holy Prophet (saww) is reported to have said,This world is a sowing ground for the Hereafter. (al-Kafi Vol. 3 Pg 38) Let us plant our seeds now so that we can reap them in the Hereafter. We pray to Allah (swt) to grant us the tawfiq and the ability to learn these lessons from the Holy Qur’an and implement them in our daily lives. Ameen.
