Lessons from the Sermon of  Imam Ali (a) on Eid al-Fitr

April 2, 2025 / editor
Imam Ali (a) mentions the qualities of Allah (swt) that
motivate a person to praise and glorify Him.
How could one ever lose hope in His mercy when it
encompasses all things.” (Q7:156)?
No individual is ever deprived of His bounty since human beings are constantly being showered by His blessings, both outward and known, as well as inward and hidden …” (Q31:20).

A Synopsis of Du’a 45 from Sahifa Sajjadiyya

April 2, 2025 / editor
Praise and Glorification of Allah: In this supplication, Imam Zain al-Abideen (a) begins by praising Allah for His kindness towards His servants. He rewards them for praising and thanking Him when it is really He who has inspired us to do so. Furthermore, it is He who guided us to the right path yet He still rewards us for following it.

Repentance and Seeking Forgiveness: Repentance follows confession and regret – only when one has remorse for his misdeeds can he truly gain forgiveness from Allah. Imam al-Sajjad (a) says that remorse is “firmly knitted in our hearts” and pardon is “sincerely uttered by
our tongues” as we confess and repent for our wrongs. We also ask forgiveness for our
shortcomings and negligence in this blessed month.

Ahadith on Death from Imam Ali (a)

April 2, 2025 / editor

The intelligent person is one
who does not waste his [time and] energy in that which does not benefit him, and does not [strive to] acquire that which will
not accompany him [after his death]. (H. 6718)
Verily when Allah, the Glorified, wishes good for a
servant, He grants him success in spending his lifetime doing the best deeds and blesses him with the ability to quickly use his available time to perform acts of worship, before [the coming of] his death. (H.10597)
One who is certain of the [eventual] departure [from this world] prepares for the journey. (H.9533)
